Did Napoleon uphold the ideals of the French Revolution - "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity"?

I have an Essay test tomorrow and this is the question. We aren't allowed any notes at all. So far I know that he basically rebuilt France and took over but I don't know if he really upheld the ideas of the French Revolution.
