Question about white guilt in America and those who use it for power.?

First of all, I have a serious problem with "Steele hypothesized that America lost its moral authority when it acknowledged and apologized for the sin of slavery in the early 60’s.". Yes, sometimes people use the guilt of hundreds of years of slavery against someone else. They have the right to, though. There is white guilt because we did something terribly wrong. You can't just ignore part of history because it is unsavory to your race.
